MTV BASE VJ SEARCH UNCOVERS GREAT TALENT

CATCH THE NATIONWIDE AUDITIONS EXCLUSIVELY ON MTV BASE ON 19 JULY 2017 #MTVBaseVJSearch

After a month-long nationwide search of MTV Base VJ Searchsponsored by Breezer, the channel has wrapped its competition after screening over 8000 auditions in four cities including Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and through their digital platforms. Now some of the best and hilarious auditions will be broadcast on MTV Base (DStv channel 322) beginning on 19 July 2017 at 21:00 CAT. MTV Base VJ Search first opened its digital entries on 24 May and began its countrywide auditions on 3 June 2017 at their first venue, Zone 6 in Soweto, south of Johannesburg. Each weekend of the month of June, the search continued to Durban (10 June), Cape Town (17 June) and wrapped in Port Elizabeth on 24 June, where five of the best entries were picked from the various audition phases. This Wednesday, watch the first two regional legs of auditions from Johannesburg and Durban as VJ hopefuls face the show’s panel of judges Luthando “Lootlove” Shosha, Thomas Gumede and Nomalanga Shozi while showcasing their best presenting skills. Thank you to all our partners for making dreams come alive.” The ultimate winner will be revealed on 27 August 2017, joining the alumnus of the MTV BaseVJs Sizwe Dhlomo, Sandile Ntshingila, Nomuzi Mabena and Fikile “Fix” Moeti. They will be awarded a 12-month contract with the network, where they will host some of MTV Baseshows and interview the biggest music stars in the world at international shows such as theVideo Music Awards (VMAs), European Music Awards (EMAs), and The MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) while they “live life in colour” with Breezer.
